I've always found ebay is good for small quantity stuff.
I recently needed some 1 1/2 alloy round bar, 12" long.
Rapid Metals, on the internet, wanted £12 for it, plus another £12 for postage and vat. Guy on ebay supplied it for £11 all in.
As for Halfords, they have a whole aisle for just motorcycle stuff in my local one.
