Alternative to a reliant axle

Post by Hairyrsdbiker »

Hi all, I'm trying to build a kwaka gt750 trike on a budget, but the main problems I've got is trying to get a reliant axle, can anyone recommend an alternative that's cheaper and more readily available?

Have a look around your local car breakers and see what you can find.

MK2 escort I have known people to use anglia, morris minor could use a caddy van as the diff is offset on those & a little more modern as i gather your going the adapted swing arm route?or else independent BMW route.
The older i get the earlier it seems to get late.

That reliant b stamp axle above is a bargain at £100 I doubt you will find anything suitable for less, I had a mk2 escort axle in one of mine but good luck finding one of them at a reasonable price

may want to look at G37 INFINITI rear end and setup IRS. This is what I am using on my 14 Harley Breakout FXSB cvurrently. Will post some pics after I get it further along. This will be my 6th trike in last 40 years. Had 2 Harley, 2 Honda and a Royal Enfield Indian in the past.
