Conflicting answers to this one.
I don't have any mudguards on one of my trikes but been told
By one or two that I have to have them by law.
It is always ok at mot time.
Anyone got an answer on here.

I think you will find you don't need them for MOT, BUT if pulled by Vosa they will do you.
The older i get the earlier it seems to get late.

Hi you don't need them for a mot. you do need them if your going through the mvsa test. but you could get nicked under the cu by the police if not fitted

I had a gt550 with very small ones fitted,never had a problem.

just found the post swirl put on in 2012 had a read through that.
i have 295 tyres on it and looks better without mudguards.
my other trike has mudguards and looks good with them so they will stay.

My only comment is it might depends on the width of the vehicle as to having somewhere to put the lights and reflectors.
If you had some kind of outrigger for trikes over 1500mm wide would they be classed as dangerous?

Trike 1260 mm wide with the big wheels on.
Have lights on small brackets.
Would put a pic on but not good with that sort of thing.
