Cheers. Yeah sorted the indicators. It was down to swapping over to led markers but wired on to an old part of the original loom whos lights had an inbuilt indicator. Cut the earth from the indicators and gave the marks a new one and all good.

Re: I now own a trike!!!
well although the engine has been running ok on long runs (130 miles+ at 70mph) she was loosing around 500ml of oil
no smoke, no leaks could not suss where it was going. also done a compression test and it was 180psi on one and 180 on the other.
so before christmas ordered a few bits and during the christmas break in one 17 hour session we removed the engine, stripped it down, replaced at the rings, deglazed the cylinders, lapped in the valves, replaced valve stem seals, new gaskets, redone the tappets, new oil, new oil filter and put it back in the frame.
on firing her up sounded alot loader and better but taking her for a run she stutter around the 45/50mph mark. figured that she was getting to much air so after a number of trial and errors have put on new air filters with some filter oil which has fixed it i think.
done a compression test today after work................. 220/230 on both guess we done something right.
last test to do is to go on a long run and see if its stopped loosing oil. fingers crossed.

Re: I now own a trike!!!
wow cant believe its been that long since i posted.
anyway as i have been saying for a while my trike needed painting. well i finally pulled my finger out and got it done last week for the meet.
only thing is now i have im not sure i am happy with the colour :(.
had some problems with the paint too which has meant that when i finished it the paint moved so even if i want to keep the colour i have to redo the tank.
will show where i am now but be warned it may well all be coming off and changing
sanded down the various parts
then coated in primer
then a white under coat
then some coats of yellow
then faded in some orange. if i do this again i will be skipping this bit as the orange all but disappeared.
then masked the parts up
then comes the nervous bit spray on the grey and sit back and watch
then peel back the masking
then i lacquered it all. after this is when disaster struck. lent the tank over to sort out the fuel tap and its seems some of the paint had not finished going off and it moved >:(. not sure if this is part of the reason i am not as happy as i hoped to be with the colour but the grey is not as dark as i hoped.
couldnt do anything about it straight away as needed to get to the UKT meet so here it is all back on
anyway as i said not sure if it will stay this colour but it will have to do for the minute as i dont have the time or the paint to do it again straight away.

Hi twisted, have just read all of this thread and you and stumpy have done great work. I like the paint finish, looks reptilian like lizard skin.
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Having seen it in the flesh - it is a lovely trike. Last year it won our "best rat" trophy. This year - not a chance!!
