Really pleased that all has worked out, and it has had the desired result.

Re: Boom Fun 500 Gearbox
Lovely sunny day on the South Coast, a perfect day to attend a Boxing Day meet-up.
Shame I will be in a car going to the outlaws.
Congrats, and I hope the weather is good where you are.

Re: Boom Fun 500 Gearbox
Well some miles under the trike now and a new list of niggles as well as a list of wants and wishes, so another day working on it and we now have it all sorted.
No Givi box on it as previous owner had a leather case in which was not in sale and they either did not get or still have the Givi box. So bought and fitted a Monokey box of same size.
Reverse was getting tricky to get (just needed to adjust cable) SORTED
Reverse light not working - traced to a bad connection in a multiplug after hours of tracing it.......SORTED
Temp gauge was intermittent - bad connection at temp sensor - SORTED
Ignition light on a lot of the time at higher revs.....Worked out the Piaggio is wired with permanently live lights so the rectifier gives out a higher voltage than the battery likes if the lights are not on DIP. The ignition light would come on at voltages under 12V and over 16V. so turn on lights to dip and ignition light stays out.....SORTED
Front dummy headlight was just that. NOT ANY MORE, wired in and sorted so it works at side and dip setting BUT not on Full beam. This way when you dip a car approaching knows your not a car as your lights have went from 3 to 2 and also too wide for a bike, Makes em think a bit more.
Good lady's hands were getting cold, so added hand guards.
Ordered and fitted alloy wheel centres as one was missing and other was shabby
Ordered and fitted the cover of the clutch shaft bearing for the variator.
There was a warning light on the tank with a worn of symbol that we did not know what it was for. Traced it and it was a low break fluid warning light, turned out it was not working due to a bad connection (level was low but not dangerous so topped up and cleaned connections) and light is now working as it should.
Just a front fender extender to add and its all up to what the good lady expects.

Re: Boom Fun 500 Gearbox
good morning I am new to this discussion board and was reading your post I was about to post a similar question I recently bought the same trike 06 boom 500 fun my problem is when putting in to forward or reverse it takes a few seconds so when I accelerate it sort of bangs into gear the person who sold it to me says this is normal for trikes its been that way since he owned it I think he is wrong other than that it rides fine doesn't slip or anything like that would you happen to know if this true i had many different types of vehicles over the years as far as I know it should go right in gear forward or reverse any advise will be appreciated.

Hi satchmo. You need to start a new topic the Tec section. Also can you pop along to the intro section for new members. Its good manners even if we don't have any. Lol
