If it will hold the wheel sufficiently on a rolling road then it should pass.

But, as Jinj says, different MOT peeps interpret the rules differently.
Thanks for letting me know that. Its good to hear "some" places will accept this sort of set up. But as you say, its down to the MOT bloke at the end of the day. I'll print 1 or 2 pics off & ave a wonder down to the MOT place & see what they ave to say. Fingers crossed he's says yes......

Thanks for posting that.....

Fingers crossed the MOT bloke has a bit of common sense between his ears.

That's rigged up to an actual park brake caliper off a TMAX 530 scooter which is bolted to the swing arm & clamps onto the rear brake disc. Which works out great as I've only got the one wheel at the back & the only way its been tested (so far) is me trying to push the trike & I cant get it to shift.......

I was under the impression the hand brake/parking brake had to be of a ratchet type. this allows for brake shoe or pads wear and cable stretching plus I has a firm lock when on.

I always thought it had to be on the two rear wheels, but that mot manual states:
..with a three-wheeled vehicle, at least one wheel from turning
Coupled with VOSA/SVA blokey saying it is ok, is all a bit confoosing.
I can't be arsed to dig out a link for the SVA Manual and look it up.

That bits referring to the original park brake they're fitted with ( the black lever in the bottom pic of my post before ) the SVA wont pass them coz there is no way of locking it off.
I took both levers down to show um & he said no the black lever & yes to the other lever.........

Is it a parking brake or an emergency brake?
If it's a parking brake it needs to have a means of locking it ON surely?
