Rear axle paint
Hi folks been rubbing down and repainting the trikes underneath, used the non setting waxoil type, seems very good and sticky. I have now come to paint the rear axle and wondered if I could coat that with a thin layer of waxoil as well, or will it cause heat transfer issues, axel getting warm on a long summer drive (i wish). I have read around and the ordinary types of paint seem to chip easily, so would prefer something a bit more resilient. Thanks barney

Spray Hammerite is pretty resilient or was when used on bike frame. Sticky / taccy waxoil doesn't sound appealing - dirt magnet?

Re: Rear axle paint
I use Hammerite hammer finish on most frame stuff, it's easy to touch up if you damage it, or more likely when modifications and changes are needed at a later date. I've used it on every vehicle I've built.
And I personally like the look of it, but it's a Marmite thing.
