Texaco HS4_revving
Hi all, my hs4 was perfect yesterday, today I thought that the throttle was a bit stiff so I unscrewed the little volt from under the throttle casing and blasted some wd into it, put the bolt back in and then started it and it's revving to fast, would this bolt cause this to happen, I thought it was to adjust the tension of the twist grip, any ideas. Only bought it yesterday. Thanks in advance.

Just back the bolt off until the throttle releases.

Re: Texaco HS4_revving
Thanks for the info, did what you suggested and made no difference, I am beginning to think it's something to do with the choke as when starting from cold I gave it full choke and it revved really hard and when the choke is taken off it only drops to 3to 3.5 thousand revs. It's twin carb vw 1.6. Any ideas please.

Hmmm could be the throttle cable sticking, it might want lubricating.

Can you disconnect the throttle cable at the carbs and see if the revs drop? If they don't then do the same with the choke cable, this'll tell you if one of the cables is the problem.
