Honda deuville shaft direction

Post by Ferrit69 »

Right trike build is getting started as I have found some parts and changed direction!
But does anyone know which way a Honda Deauville prop shaft turns looking at the shaft.
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a
delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous
mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely
possible to pick up a turd by the clean end

Shaft is on the left therefore it turns clockwise, looking from rear of bike.
Cheers,

Tip i was taught was to remove timing cover, rotate crank, with transmission in gear, in direction of timing arrows, and watch prop rotation.

I am stuck at work for the next week and just wondered if any one knew. I cannot see the prop shaft without removing the back end as it is enclosed in the swinging arm and would rather spend the little time I get on the build rather than taking bike apart then rebuilding it. On second thoughts if I don’t and they are wrong it could take me a lot longer altering things!!!!

Fair comment; checking is the sane and sensible thing to do.
But if you picture that a shaft mounted on the left side of the bike has to drive the ring gear on the wheel anti-clockwise (looking from the left) then that shaft, being nearer to you than the ring gear, has to rotate 'away' from you, ie clockwise as viewed from behind.
If I'm wrong I'll just nip out behind the garage and shoot meself, before one of you does it for me.
Cheers,
Pete

Lol sounds about right mechanically. It’s the way people look at things logically that intrigues me!
Thank you for the help

I look at nowt logically cos mine's a Krautmobile.....no lefthand threads....

Not one anywhere on the engine....logicaly you would say crank pulley bolt, flyheel bolt, nuts on dyno shaft and hub bolts on rear axle should all be left hand thread......not a one...

Deutchland Deutchland uber chuffin alles....bo***cks:naughty:
