Hi mate, can't say I've had any overheating problems on my XVS, just fitted a temp gauge where the oil fill used to be, not because I actually look at it, just that it looks better than a plastic plug! You say you're going to fit a u-bolt over the nose of the diff, I found out that a Ford Escort Mexico hanger u-bolt is the perfect fit. I had to order 2 as they come in pairs, so I have a spare one if you want it free & gratis!
Just about to fit a heavy duty Barnett clutch conversion to mine which does away with the diaphragm spring, & also fitting Kevlar clutch plates & heavy duty springs. The old clutch is ok but not up to dragging an axle around & there's something not quite right going on with it, when the kit arrives from the good ol' USA i'll investigate & let you know.
Good luck, Bob.
Some mornings it's just not worth chewing through the restraints!

Just had a bit of a hint for info, and found the following:
http://www.trikedoctor.co.uk/forums/vie ... hp?t=16111
http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/Trik ... ingtt.html

Saying that, looking at the MSVA manual, it only talks about "disabled person's belt".

I was thinking, yours is just a bolt on conversion, so not sure it would make any difference amending the registration.

Best bet is probably give NABD a call.

thanks for that mate i may look into this but as you say a bolt on should not be a prob just wondering if being disabled might speed things up, i suppose i should call dvla or rather get the wife to as she always gets further than me[probably calmer] i tend to get wound up :hissyfit: and get nowhere.

As 1130cc said, you will be better contacting NABD.
They will not give you the run around like DVLA do.

Bought some second hand trailer wheel arches and cut out the bits I needed to replace the flattened area on the muddies. Image

Trying to figure out how to mount the muddies as it needs to be substantial. This is using some 90 degree bends I purchased, but they look a bit square.
Image
These are some of the original bends I did for the swing arm conversion, they look much better.

looks a bit like the handles on a bobsleigh [may need a push now and then]

Welds need cleaning up, muddies removed to come up with a solution to accurately centre them and make final changes for tyre clearance. Tubes will probably need minor adjustments to mount to guards. Will use the tubes with the 90 degree bends for the rest of the mounts to front and rear. Should be strong enough, fingers crossed!
