Restoring a Triumph trike

Post by shammon »

Hi,
Swapped one of my bikes for this Triumph Trike. Its a triumph front with a Robin reliant rear and a XJ900f Engine,
Its been sat for some time needing a lot of work to get it back running on the road. Electrics are mess and will be first to get all sorted.
No doubt will be asking here about help thanks

Does 'Triumph' sound better than 'Bitsa' ? If the headstock & frame hoop is retained, however modified, its a Yamaha - is it registered, what's that say? Nice stance though!

Which one are we looking at? Is it the one on the right with a white saddle? :hoofle: :hoofle:

Oooh - that's a bit naughty as we all know Triumph never made trikes! And as it appears to be a hardtail it shouldn't have retained it's registration (if it did) due to frame modification - just like all those 'Reliant trikes'. It could be a legal / registration nightmare.

I like the way that trike sits, got very appealing lines and has the potential to be a very tidy job. My only concern would be the registration. Worst case scenario will be that you have to get an MSVA test. If you do get an MSVA test done, it may be a bit of a nuisance but at least you will have peace of mind and know that your trike is all legal. Good luck with your project, keep us updated with progress.
