Saucy Sue stuff

Post by Deep Diver »

Now when I picked up Saucy Sue from Gorbee my son was driving the car behind me and said the rear lights are not very bright on a sunny day.
They were just six small leds in a stainless steel tube.
I've since picked up some correct led rear lights which are mot compliant.
I had the tubes machined to fit the new lights and will be doing this over the weekend.

It's funny what some people consider to be acceptable when safety is concerned but would be very vocal (in this case) if someone ran into the back of them!

Yes they were fitted by one of the owners about 6 years ago when it was built as a custom trike.

When I bought my Reliant trike the rear lights consisted of two single LEDs underneath the rear axle, and two more tiny single leds on each rear mudguard bracket. Different strokes for differing folks, the previous owner had different ideas to me, which is fair enough. I like to be seen though.

I added proper mudguards, plus some very bright LED rear lights. And a toolbox made from a sectioned ammo box.

Well I found a right pigs ear of stuff, the headlights had both high and dip on at the same time.
The dip switch had the wires cut off and a push button switch fitted on the right hand side.
This had electric feed to it but didn't go to any thing else.
There's no headlights dipping relay, just one powering up the lights.
I've now fitted a switching relay which does the job but don't have time to finish it today.
So job for the week
