done nothing to mine but helped my mate Chris with his Boom trike, ripped off the entire loom and added extras to keep it running and started to rewire it, awaiting things like fuse boxes, igniting switch, relays and electrical box.

Well I think I've fixed mine striped the carb down to night had wire down every hole and a blast of air i had a spare rebuild kit as I lost while building so brought another then found this one again so changed all the diagrams and gaskets . The only crap i found was in the inlet filter but not enough to effect it. went to fire it up wouldn't fire up so I checked for spark nothing I found the king lead was knackered it was hardly in the coil so took one off the mini fired up straight away I'll try and take it out tomorrow . So I think it was a combination of the two coming home i had to blip the throttle every time I slowed down to keep the engine running when I stopped at my dad's to drop the pod off it wouldn't start again for half hour once it had cooled down a bit .I did have a bit of luck i checked the fuel sight gauge and it was empty it's that low I won't take the risk riding it to get fuel at the bottom of the roadI'll get a can

If by the fuel sight gauge you mean the pipe on the tank, it was showing just under half tank before you left. I know that because I pointed the gauge out to Vicki when we were sat next to the trike yesterday morning. (we could do with one on our trike.)
As an aside.
Your suggestion that switching the fuel off on our trike might solve the starting problem seems to be spot on. Just been outside and it started first time, no problem.
Cheers Jing.
