The advance/retard is handled by the ECU on these, to check the timing you have to plug into the ECU using VAG-COM or VCDS software and put the ECU into basic settings,whilst holding the revs at exactly 1500 rpm and shining a timing light onto the crankshaft pulley at the same time, now if after that you have to adjust the timing then thats when your other 3 hands come into play.

Easy peasy really.

Took it out for a few runs, no problems this time, maybe because it's a bit cooler. :thumbsup: Next weekend I'm thinking of cleaning the Lambda Sensor,,, :hide: see what trouble I can get myself into :eek: :hoofle:
