EU to ban chrome plating in 2024?

Here's the info on it, its not a April fool joke. But there is another type of chrome plating.

I wonder what'll be used instead for the hydraulic rams on heavy plant? (and on our shock absorber rods amongst other things)

Bloody Eurocrats have managed to destroy chrome plating industry in the UK & Europe and priced it out to Asia - now it's trying to police them and ensure no chrome enters Europe! But like all I'll conceived ideas no solutions are offered for industrial uses!
