The forum hosting is due to run out on the 23rd of this month.
We have reached out to Phil, The Trikeguy, to see if he will take on the forum and cover the cost, or move it to his existing hosting (https://www.thetrikeguy.co.uk/).
We have had no response and the invoice (£151.20) remains unpaid.
To be honest, I no longer want the responsibility of running the forum, either.
So, the countdown clock is running.
The end is nigh

Re: The end is nigh
A BMW forum I frequent occasionally has just closed down too. It seems everybody is going to Facebook for groups and info.
I’m on the Mig welding forum, and it’s supported by the users, £12 a year I think, voluntary payments, but it does well and is very busy.

We used to have an annual get together, that raised money to pay the hosting costs, but Covid put paid to those and they never really picked up again.King Herald wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:27 am A BMW forum I frequent occasionally has just closed down too. There is £48.35 in the Paypal account, which will be donated to NABD
I know what you mean by the decline of forums. They used to be the goto place for information, but now a quick "Google" will get your answers.
I also wonder if it is just the "onslaught" of social media that is breeding a mixture apathy and information overload.

There's another online app called "Mewe" I use which is free and has biker and trike groups in it. And also telegram app.
The mewe one is I think better then Facebook because they don't use your private information.
I can set up a uk trike group on there if anyone is interested

Spoke with Alex earlier and it maybe best to set up a WhatsApp group chat to keep in touch with everyone.

I think I mentioned a Discord server to him.Deep Diver wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:20 pm Spoke with Alex earlier and it maybe best to set up a WhatsApp group chat to keep in touch with everyone.
They are free, and allow for easier voice calling, with multiple channels\rooms, as well as straight text chat.
I use both platforms, so no issue.
I also have a Discord server administrator in the house, who can tell me what the hell I am doing, or modify it for us with some fun bots.
Kind of like the forum chat, but with a V8 engine.
