Don’t use paypoint

Post by knockdolian »

Hi all, a word of warning. I bought a turbo trainer (bike thing) off Gumtree. The vendor wanted payment by paypoint. He told me it’s like PayPal. I’d never used it before so went ahead and paid The £300. Never heard from him again. Money gone. Good start to the new year.

Sorry you were conned. It seems we all have to treat every deal as if its a scam.I never pay until I have inspected the goods & have them in my hand/boot/trailer.

Agree totally, however I’ve been off with this Flu and let down my guard. At £300 an expensive lesson but could have been much worse. You just fell like you’ve had a good kick in the nuts when it happens

There was something on the news yesterday about compensation from Western Union for people who have been conned this way.
Might be worth looking on their website.
