alternator bearing on a robin

Hi again has any one changed there alternator bearing ,if so how do you do it.
The alternator is charging ok but its started to whine when i rev it up and i don't what it seizing up when i'm on the road.I can get a bearing kit for £25 or a new alternator £60.
Its a lucas 00100.

You'll find that the brushes will be worn out to, so go with a new one
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

i agree if the bearings have gone the rest of it will be well worn too
