Hi everyone,
Finally got my new tri glide ultra after a 6 month wait.
This guy is a very happy bunny indeedy
Took out insurance with Allstyles and all done on line last month.
However, I was unaware that one of the forms sent was for me to fill out.
Specifically a "Agreed Value Request Form" (never heard of this before!)
I also have to send photographs.
So.. I paid £29,641 for the trike and that is reflected on my insurance documents as "Vehicle Value"
Allstyles just sent me a letter entitled "Final Request for Photographs/Agreed Value Form"
So I managed to hunt down the form amongst the documents they sent me last month.
Printed the form out and filled out all the details other than the box entitled "Your estimated value"
Now obviously a brand new vehicle depreciates as soon as it leaves the show room...
So if I enter a value in this box is this the value I think it is now worth? Though I am not sure what it is now worth.
Additionally, if the insurer agrees a agreed value is this something that would then incur an extra cost.
Most confusing. But then I am easily confused
Would welcome the thoughts of others
Cheers
John

As its a new vehicle I wouldn't estimate anything just note it as the new cost! No doubt they'll be hitting you with an excess if it got written off so why do yourself out of money - maybe after a years use a reduced value is justified but not new!

From what I have seen you get the dealer to fill in the value including accessories. This is then agreed with the insurer. If the trike is a total loss that is what the insurance company will pay out without the usual hassles of negotiating.
Obviously there is an additional amount to pay for this a bit like gap insurance.

Sometimes it is as simple as sending in photos.
You send in a set of photos, giving your value.
The insurance company will look at them and agree, or not.
A couple of years ago, I raised the value of my trike from 3500 to 7500.
I sent them before and after photos, and they agreed on the value.
And, that was with AllStyles

The estimated value is what you yourself set the value at...you have to send recently taken photo's,front,..back, with number plate showing, ..both side views and maybe one of the mileage at the time....plus fill in an agreed value form...they will look at the pics and then decide on the worth..with Bikesure it is £75...you can also take out excess protection if you have a high excess to keep policy price down....hope you enjoy the Trike...
