CX500 Trike

Post by Oldun »

Hi Guys and Galls, Fairly new to triking, I bought my first bike ( a 350cc Douglas Dragonfly Competition model ) in 1959 and having reached the age of 77 following a few problems, heart attack , long covid to mention just a couple, I have ended up with a substantial amount of CX 500 bits including a frame and engine with a registration doc, and wonder about a nice quite quiet unassuming trike. I don't need super quick , just nice little boogy trike and wondered if anybody had any thoughts on achievable top speed etc . Many thanks in anticipation, Oldun

All depends on what axle / diff ratio you use! Reliant 'B' axle has the best ratio when mated to bike engines although bigger dia wheels & tyres opens up shorter ratios.
