Tube bending - Manchester area

Post by Ghoulie »

Finally found a good co. / guy who can do 'specials' and is making up for me a tailor made set of handlebars in 38mm stainless for my Misty Blue trike.

Atlas Tube Bending,
Albert St.,
Oldham
OL8 3QP
0161 683 5556.
Owner is Neil Meah.

Tells me he has done some tube bending before for trike chassis too.

They are just round the corner from the chrome plating / polishing co.

R&S Electroplating Limited
The Smithy
2 Crown Street
Failsworth
Manchester
M35 9BD
Telephone: 0161 683 4908

My missus has used the above for brass polishing and I have had some chrome plating done there too. Will get them to polish the stainless bars when they are done.

At last. :)

Hopefully get the bars sorted once and for all this time, well found.

Hi Rik - already started the bars & looking good from what I saw. 8" closer at the grips and 4" nearer to me than setup before.

Just don't get them made too straight at the hand grip ends....it looks the dogs but it kills your wrists after an hour or so.

Been there...still suffering it LOL.

Finally got my new SS h'bars back. Now in for threading to take mirrors & hole for wiring to go through - then off to be polished.

Here's a piccy of the old shape vs new.

Nearer to you, closer together's going to give you a much more comfortable ride....won't look so extreme though. ;)

Threading done for mirrors - I cut / drilled / filed holes yesterday for wiring to go through and had a go at polishing a couple of areas. Quite surprised at how good a finish some 1200 & 1500 paper brought up a shine. I was going to send bars off to be polished, but I will have a go myself after seeing what the 1200 / 1500 paper did.

Of course, the wiring now needs extending with bars being longer. Hope I get away with throttle cable length as is.
