Boom fun 500 cutting out
Hi all quick question my partner got a 06 plate boom trike that cuts out when in forward gear but is fine in reverse. I've noticed 3 switches on the selector 1 I know is for reverse lights but don't know what the other 2 are. When in reverse the leaver touches reverse light switch and one of the other switches but in forward it don't touch the other switch but should it ? And could this be the cause of cutting out pics should leaver and the 3 switches .hopefully someone can help and cheers

I am guessing that it should, but just trying to get my head around the logic of what the switch would do/protect.
Thinking of a bike, you have a sidestand switch and a clutch switch.
The sidestand switch cuts the engine if you put it in gear and the release the clutch, whilst the sidestand is down.
The two switches work in tandem.
The question is what do your switches, other than the reversing light switch, protect.
I just can not think what it could protect, or what safety feature it is creating.
I can only think of the handbrake, but at the same time that is illogical as how would you do a handbrake turn
One test you could try is to manually activate/deactivate the switch then put it in gear.

Bikers know why dogs stick their head out of car windows.

If it's automatic the switches could be a reverse light switch and the other are inhibitor switches to stop the engine starting whilst in gear.
