Post by Barracuda »

Hi, can I weld my trike chassis onto my Xj 900 f bike’s swinging arm unit and still be a bolt on trike ?

DO NOT weld to any part of the bike frame
the swing arm isn't part of the frame so yes u can some one will have some photos of a swing arm frame that they will put up to give u a idea

The whole concept of "bolt on" is that the reverse is true.
That is to say, the modification can be unbolted.
This allows for the trike to be returned to its original construction.

If you weld anything to the frame it will be come a "new vehicle" and require an MSVA test.
Bikers know why dogs stick their head out of car windows.

Great to have your input ,I am appealing to Msva against their decision to class it as a weld on and have said I want a re- inspection by their d.ck head jobsworth mobile inspector. Will post outcome a.s.a.p with pics on my trike. Cheers mate.
