Hi, Im new to trikes but long time biker. Anyhoo my question is about tyres.
I have a 2008 canam Spyder which needs new front tyres. The tyre size is 165/65 r14 and is a standard car size, but the current tyres state on the sidewall that they're specialised motorcycle tyres. Can I fit a standard car tyre? The front tyre pressures are only 15 psi and I don't know if this requires special bike tyres. I have an MOT booked next week so want to get this sorted before then. If it's a requirement for the MOT can anyone recommend a supplier please.
Many thanks in advance
Tyre recommendations.

Have a look at this site - Michelin & Dunlop recommended specifically - do a search for UK supply of these quoted

Re: Tyre recommendations.
Working fine for me. Just do a google search on can am spyder front wheel tyres - that’s how I found it
Specifically mentions Michelin Pilot Road 4 or Dunlop Sportmax Q4. Do a uk search for supplier fitter of those tyres.

I don't think I've ever seen a 14" bike only tyre! Plus the geometry on the front would surely suit a car tyre?

The size is a standard car tyre size but the ones fitted say motorcycle use only. They are definitely the shape of a car tyre, I just want to know if I can use a standard car tyre on the trike.

Re: Tyre recommendations.
If you look up the Michelin & Dunlop tyres mentioned above - the shape is definitely a more rounded bike tyre profile.
I had a similar rounded type off a Honda on my V8 trike & swapped it for a squarer car type. The only difference is - it follows different ruts!
Your can am is 2 wheels at the front - 2x squarer type tyres may affect steering - better or worse I wouldn’t like to say

Re: Tyre recommendations.
Car and bike tyres have different bead profiles and the rims aren't actually all the same diameter across the bead seats either despite being labelled the same size - a 125-15" car tyre is much too small to fit a 15" GL1200 rim for example so maybe you need these "motorcycle only" tyres to fit your wheels?
