You can keep stacking them up until you run out of belt...or bridge clearance. 
Common trick is to have two side by side....then someone always has to out do everyone else. Two V8's with double blowers

"Here's the real Rolls Royce of motorcycles.. Built late 60s/early70sUsing 1930s 5000cc MERLIN vtwin ENGINE BANK.. Woo hoo! This thing got crackin'....One for all you bike fans. This 5.0 litre Supercharged V-Twin also runs Nitrous injection. Motor is one bank of a Rolls Royce Merlin. Two speed gearbox - 160kmh in first, ? in second. Built with good old Aussie know how. Pic is from 'Two Wheels mag in 1974."
