Hi, my Xj 900 has the trike chassis welded onto the swing arm, does that mean it,s not a bolt on.

No, The swingarm (as it is a bolt-on) can be swapped out for one without all the ironwork and revert back to 2 wheel m/cycle!

My only caution is adding significant weight & structure to a std. XJ arm puts a lot of stress into the s/arm mounts in the frame and I wouldn't rely on a monoshock - IMO twin shocks from axle to subframe is a better solution!
