had a nice chat with the VOSA team by email today which more or less went :-
VOSA: send pics please
Me: sure I have thousands how many do you want?
VOSA: 4 will do front/back/both sides.
Me: OK here you go.

20 minutes later get a phone call

VOSA: hello mad bob, we would like to test your trike on 21st June
Me: ah cant you do 24th?
VOSA: Sorry no testers that day!
Me. ok how about the following week?
VOSA: yes we can do the 30th
Me: Superb
VOSA: your test will take two and a half hours
Me: !!!!11!

Its not like anything is hidden on the trike, going to take them 30 minutes to walk round it, and 2 hours to drink a cup of tea!

An MOT is supposed to take 45-60 minutes, and that is just a basic check.

Better take a flask and sandwiches with you.
Marie/Brian should be able to advise on that side of things :)
