well a couple of emails to Mel and ive ordered a backend he had a spare 535 swingarm so its going to fabrication on monday, recons a couple of weeks and i will have it back Yay... i looked carefully at your photos Mitch and you cant fault the welding so im happy to pay his price... ive never built a trike backend and even tho i could make one its the wife and daughter on it and i realy dont fancy messing with something im not sure on

Can you take some close pics of the area around where the drive shaft hole is welded when it turns up please as I'm going to make one along the same line for a gold wing

well the back end turned up and so far im impressed unfortunatlywill be a couple of weeks befor i can start on the trike

Have fun, it took me about 6 months to build mine. Research and double checking everything all the time. Remember measure twice and then measure it again. Cut once and photograph everything.

well i finaly started to work on the trike ...its only been 2 years since i bought the back end so firstly here are some photos of the welding on the old brackets on the axle and the new back end loosley bolted to the axle .... well impressed fitted like a glove tommorrow i fetch the rest up out of storage and bolt it all together..... YAY :thumbsup:

i sincerely hope the dickhead that welded the original frame is no longer building these things hes bloody dangerous

Mate, I bought a cx500 with welds a bit like that! Stick welded and slag left on so it looked ok, only thing is the slag is porous and set up the rot and the penetration was dam near nil! :hammer: :bang: :hammer: :bang:
People who do this should never be let loose on home builds :bang:
