Re: operation jinja wing
well ive been messing all week got the engine out on sunday this is the damage that was done
which was caused by me not thread locking the bolt when i fixed the starter clutch so this time i put a blob of weld on to make sure
when i had it running it was leaking from the steel water pipe where it goes into the head when it went to take it of one of the bolts was just going round so put a bar under the help it grip and it come streight of showing the real problem
lucky there was enough to get a nut on now the problem with welding 6 ml nuts is the tend to melt trying to get enough heat in so this is what i do

Re: operation jinja wing
i press it into a 12mm nut in the vice
then weld you get a lot more heat it still took three goes tapping the top of the nut with an hammer as you go back and forth so its all back together and sprayed up. ill let it dry for a few days
while i work out why the carbs filled the head with petrol also it give me chance to do a few jobs i wished i had done before putting the engine in last time

Keep at it jing, going through much the same withe the rebuild of my mini pick up engine and gear box i thought i had put the selectors in wrong as I could not select any gears but on checking i found the roll pin in the connection between gear shift and gear box was not all the way in and was fouling the gear box big relief .
