Re: Yamaha vmax full power
Just read it's a casarva one, I'd send them some pics of it.

Not a home made item, so called "proffesional conversion". There is a closing bracket that has been added by someone, which probably has not helped, but my view is that the original design is poor. The shock load goes into the arm ar roughly 1/3 the way out - that's just silly, added to this it's just 1 inch tube....

It should have bigger dia tube or thick wall tube.

Casarva are now using 1 1/4" or 32mm pipe.
The bottom A frame with the shock mount has been redesigned from what you have.

Re: Yamaha vmax full power
Well thanks both for the comments, lets just say that I was aware of all that. Been talking to the designers, ideally what I would have liked is for them to provide me with 2 new arms of the new design in the new size. They don't make them that wide any more - so I assume they've widened the frame.
So I'll probably end up modifying both mine with bigger thicker tube, already done the broken one, and moved the shock mounting out 50mm, but can't implement the change until I've cut and modified the top arms also to clear, as well as bought some new springs. Job for the winter that.

Redesigned bottom arm functioning well, with the shock in the original position.
Been putting some miles on it recently - the need for a leading link is dire.
The stanchions are 40mm, I can get 39.6mm by 2.6mm seamless tube. Is this up to the job? Anyone done this job?
