Seems a bit daunting Bob, but if you get the schematics from a Haynes manual and print it off, then every connection you make use a highlight pen to mark it off, it will be back running in no time. I am not sure with your engine wiring, but if any wires connect to a mag pick up or similar, use a twisted cable pair, stops rfi. Made wiring looms in the 80s if you get stuck shout out.
