588 - never did follow foreign stuff - particularly japanese sewing machines.
Something about screaming high revving motors I don't like. Flywheels with no weight = no low down grunt to me. Didn't like that feature of my last 2 Triumphs - 900cc T'Bird & Adventurer - cut out if you didn't keep 'em revving - Triumph followed the jap engine design stuff too much with these modern triples.
Call me old fashioned
