Forum Upgrade Issues/Requests

Post by 1130cc »

One issue I know of is that some of the images are missing in the Gallery. I am trying to resolve this.

You may not like the default theme/style, so there is another one. (I may create more in the future)
To change the style, undertake the following:
  • Click on your user name, at the top left
  • Click User Control Panel
  • Select the Board preferences tab
  • Change the value in the "My board style" drop down list
  • Click Submit
I think I prefer Black-Silver-Split.

If you notice any other issues, or would like added functionality, please let me know.

Change always takes a bit of time to get used to, but at the moment it is not very clear what are new posts, could you make the buttons for the unread ones Red or similar as at the moment I am not sure which ones I have read .

I did think the same sort of thing, but it is with the theme in use.

However, I have always had a short cut to the forum that takes me straight to all unread messages:
search.php?search_id=unreadposts

You can also use the "Quick links" menu at the top left.

I will look into finding a Theme who's icons are more representative of what we had.
Or I will take suggestions if anyone finds one they like :)
Use the "Select Style" at the top left to see what they look like.

Not a fan of 'mobile phone' orientated screen layout as 1/4 of a 'normal' PC / laptop screen isn't used. Don't 'chat' so why is it first thing under the banner - other sites have it but it doesn't dominate. Need the 'unread posts' button back - the quick links thing is a PITA!

Are you saying you would like Taptalk installed? I did ask if anyone used it, and no one replied. So, didn't bother re-installing it.
Chat has always been at the top, though I was thinking of modifying the standard implementation and moving it to the bottom.
If you use a shortcut to go directly to the "Unread posts", you will avoid both the chat module and having to use the "Quick links".

Your doing a grand job there Sean, a big thanks from me for all your time and effort that you have put into this.

Oh and I like the quick links as it keeps everything together and I don't have to go looking for different links.
