Hi all.
Since I've been firmly told to introduce myself, here goes.
About 10 years ago I was a proud owner of a CBX trike but it was a nightmare to handle as the trail was not setup correctly. Anyway, I spotted that someone was selling a Rewaco HS4 down in Cape Town and paid the dude a holding deposit, booked my plane ticket, and flew down from Johannesburg to have a look and hopefully collect the trike.
All was well and I paid the dude his asking price, got the trike, and drove back to Johannesburg the next day. Problem was that I did not realize that it was a 1350 km trip... in the middle of South African winter. Now SA is, in general, a fairly warm country BUT can get very cold at times. That morning we got a nice -9 degrees celsius.
Long story short, I got home safe and sound with a smile stretching from ear to ear.
During the first year, I had to remove the engine a couple of times due to various oil leaks and a cracked block. Then one nice sunny Friday afternoon I was riding in town just under the legal speed limit (60 km/h) and I broke a flywheel.
So, I did some reseach and saw someone in Australia did a Subaru 2.0 engine swap and decided to do the same. Luckily I could not get my hands on a 2.0 and I got an EJ25 crate engine from the local importers. It took me about 6 months to do the full engine swap.
With its new heart, it sure was fun times until I had to sell it as I lost my business however the new owner did promise me that I will be his first stop if he ever wants to sell it.
So about a month ago I phone the 'new owner' just to check if he still had the trike and if he might consider selling it to me, and he did.
So once again, I'm smiling from ear to ear.
