Any up date on this as my trike needs wheel bearings and haven't a clue what age the axle is

For bearings, the best thing to do is take one out and go to a motor-factors and get them to find a set.
Failing that, find a local bearing company and take it to them.

Great link also explains my little oil leak … I’ll re drill and make up my own breather into the filler plug.
